Management Team

Carol Horsford – Owner

New Haven’s most elite property management company is owned by Carol, who comes with ten years of managing properties throughout New Haven. She is an expert in stabilizing buildings and increasing rents, and a Section 8 wizard with strong relationships to all subsidy agencies. Carol has signed over 10,000 leases and has rented over 5,000 apartments in the New Haven/Hamden area. She also may be the only real estate agent in New Haven with over 10,000 contacts.




Tyler Griffith – Managing Director

When Tyler arrived at Union Station, fresh from Paris with little more than a suitcase, Carol showed him the downtown apartment that was to be his home the entire time he was a student at Yale. After working in fine art as both a curator and broker, he took over as Managing Director of the Farnam Group in 2017 to oversee day-to-day and long-term operations of Farnam’s extensive real asset sales and management portfolio. As a recovering sommelier and former yacht racer, Tyler can also be found perusing local wine shops (Wine Thief shout-out!) or out on the Sound aboard his now 50-year old sailboat, Rapture.

Office Team

Lori Paulson – Office Manager/Marketing

Lori is a recent New Haven transplant with roots in Seattle but spent the last couple of years in Los Angeles. She comes to Farnam with over ten years of experience in the food industry, where she worked with companies that deeply value their communities. As a result, Lori loves finding and creating connections between people and finding new ways to reach out to potential clients and neighbors. Outside of creating content at Farnam, she enjoys improv comedy classes, live music, photography, and hanging out with her husband and orange tabby cat, Nolan.



Aviva Katz – Bookkeeper

Aviva has been an invaluable member of Farnam Group since 2013. Born and raised in New Haven, and a property owner herself, she has a real instinct for the local real estate market. Aviva attended Southern Connecticut Hebrew Academy and has completed the Real Estate Principles and Practice course. She now oversees the maintenance and finances for all of our management clients.



Maintenance Team

JohnJohn Franchi – Director of Maintenance

Johnny has served as the Director of Maintenance at Farnam Group since 2013. He has over 18 years of experience in the construction industry, having previously worked at American One Construction, New Haven Drywall, New Haven Partitions, and AA Construction. With experience in every major category of property maintenance, Johnny is able to resolve even the most complex maintenance issues efficiently and cost-effectively. He has previously completed classes and held certifications in OSHA 10, Lead Abatement and Hazardous Waste Disposal. Johnny grew up in the Fairhaven neighborhood of New Haven. He plays softball in the East Shore Softball League, and he loves to fish and be in the great outdoors.


John Marco Guerrero – Maintenance Project Coordinator

John Marco recently moved to New Haven from Venezuela with his wife and two children. He helps Farnam out with all of the small maintenance projects that come up. He is so quick and efficient that you just might miss him!

Ted Martinez – Special Projects

Ted has been working with the Farnam Group since 2017. He is a pleasant and helpful presence in the office and quickly responds to the needs of our tenants on special projects in units across town. You’ve never met a more charismatic individual who can quickly assess a situation and find a reasonable approach to anything from tiling and carpeting, to plumbing and lighting, to larger construction changes — while keeping everyone happy and laughing.
